Please pray for the team today as they compete at the regional level!!! We are very proud of them for their achievements up to this point and pray for God's will in their accomplishments today! The girls will be running at 10 am and the bos will run at 1045 am. More later on the results :)

Meet # 8 was the District Championship @ Community School of Naples. The Boys had a PR Sweep! All 7 achieved their Personal Record (and Brianna too)! The entire team had great results and both squads earned an advancement to the Regional Championship on Friday!

Coach Murphy wanted to pass along some exciting and challenging news. Based upon our current standings (which is based upon the season best time for each athlete), our team should be well positioned for a great showing at the District Championships on Friday. On paper both the Boys and Girls squads should advance for the first time in a long time (the top 6 teams go to Regionals). While we don’t want to jinx the results Julie thought it would be beneficial for you to know how much this young team has accomplished this year and how any parental motivation/support may assist with helping your child obtain an outcome they will remember for a long time. The team has HUGE potential for the years to come. Great and mighty thing from those so small and tiny. Once again it proves: With God all things are possible.

At the flrunners home page click on Prestate Live Video Coverage (first screenshot). Click on the spot where it says “Click here to watch.” After the video viewer loads and a 20 second commercial plays click on the menu button in the bottom right corner of the viewer. You should see the image in the second screenshot below. Select the Saturday Pre-State 2009 video (3 hours 49 minutes). The key areas that I found are at the following times in the 3hr 49 min video (note you can fast forward by sliding the bar at the bottom of the video):

Saturday 10-03-09 the team competed at Mcintosh Middle School, hosted by Riverview High School. TJ Gannon, previous team member was home for the weekend to cheer the team and little brother Mitch on. They all had a great time and as usual we were very proud of our kids. Once again it was a very hot and humid, but they perservered!
Our school is one of the few that share their faith openly. Before each race the kids pray together. I am very proud of their willingness to be open in front of the other kids and their parents. The faith that they have now will follow them long beyond the paths they are runnng on now. Thanks kids for your example.
We all had a great time watching the kids run at the North Port High School meet. We were very proud of them. As you can see from some of the pictures they had to run through the mud!

The Blazers had a great start to season at the Venice High School Invitational at Oscar Scherer State Park on Saturday morning. The team of 19 runners has trained hard over the last five weeks, strengthening their Christian attitude along with their speed and endurance. PRs (personal record) were achieved by both veterans and rookies on the dry, sandy course. Coach Murphy did a great job of getting everyone prepared for the new season.
